Dr. Enrique Castaño and members of the IWC garden group.
The Gardening Group SIG of the IWC of Mérida held their first lecture of the year on Janurary 23. The topic was Bonsai – Art and Culture presented by Dr. Enrique Castaño. Dr. Castaño is a researcher from CICY (Centro de Investigación Científica de Yucatán) and President of the Bonsai Association in Yucatan
Dr. Enrique Castaño’s enlightened philosophical and scientific insight into all trees of the planet and mankind’s interdependence with them gave us all a new outlook and appreciation for the Art of Bonsai. Thank you, Dr. Castaño.
Special thanks to the group leader, Ileana Acevedo for arranging the outstanding lecture, Chloe Pacheco for providing the facilities for the lecture and Menly Davies for the photos. Also, thank you to the ladies that provided the wine and snacks.
